Recorded live in Austin, Texas, Austin City Limits welcomes home Texas-born bluesman.
Boz Scaggs followed by the stylish and unique Euro-pop of Austin's own 8 1/2 Souvenirs.

Growing up in Dallas, Boz Scaggs turned to radio for his dose of blues borne of the Mississippi Delta, New Orleans, Memphis, St. Louis and Chicago. Now a multi-platinum singer, songwriter and guitarist, Scaggs nourishes his musical roots in his latest, Grammy-nominated album, Come on Home. A soulful, old evocative collection, Come on Home stands assuredly alongside the best records of his career, as much a tribute to a rich musical tradition as a testament to Scaggs' own place within it. Scaggs' Austin City Limits performance includes the classic rhythm and blues cut "T-Bone Shuffle" plus original songs including "It All Went Down the Drain" and one of his signature hits from 1976, "Lowdown."

"The nature of these songs is in the immediacy of their performance and live is best," Scaggs said after his performance. "Austin City Limits is particularly fun because R&B is appreciated in Austin. "I love it [performing on Austin City Limits] and would like to do it at least once a week," he joked.

In the 1970s Scaggs played with former high school classmate Steve Miller for two albums before signing with Atlantic Records. He released five albums before his breakthrough record, Silk Degrees, elevated him to star status. Its hits included "Lowdown" and "Lido Shuffle," songs that remain standards on classic rock and adult contemporary radio in 1998.
